| Comments: | Animals were immunized with the SV40 transformed 3T3 clone 4 mouse cell line (B4). Spleen cells were fused with NS-1 myeloma cells. The antibody reacts with a denaturation sensitive determinant on the large T antigen. It reacts with higher affinity than PAb 100 (ATCC TIB-115 ) but does recognized a subclass of large T antigen recognized by sera from mice bearing SV40 induced tumors. Reacts strongly by immunofluorescence with nuclei of SV40 transformed cells but not with BK virus infected human cells. The antibody precipitates large T antigen and NVT (when complexed) but not small t antigen (nor the smaller SV-80 t antigen) from extracts of SV-80 cells and SV40 infected TC-7 cells. Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox). |
