The OneTouch Plus spotpicker with disposable tips (sold separately), removes 3.0 mm diameter spots from 2D gels. A new tip is used for every spot, eliminating cross contamination from one sample to the next. The unit uses specially made thin walled, sharp tips with floating filters (US Patent 6,702,990) to eject the gel plug from the tip.
