Specificity
The P3C4 monoclonal antibody was generated against IL-1β activated human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). P3C4, recognizes the vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 expressed on activated endothelial cells. VCAM-1 is the ligand for α4β1 expressed in activated leukocytes and used in extravasation during inflammation. This antibody inhibits VCAM-1 binding by α4β1. When used with another monoclonal antibody directed to an alternative epitope this antibody can be used to capture soluble serum VCAM.
Uses
VCAM-1 Monoclonal Antibody This antibody is effective in immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF) and flow cytometry but only on IL-1β activated cells.
Suggested Working Dilution
The optimal working dilution should be determined for each specific assay condition.
IF: 1:1,000
IP: 1:1,000
Flow Cytometry: 1:1,000
Storage
Store at -20°C. Upon initial thawing, apportion into working aliquots and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to prevent denaturing the antibody. For long-term storage, keep the antibody at -80°C.
