Produced in rabbits immunized with purified, recombinant Mouse Cathepsin E / CTSE (rM Cathepsin E / CTSE; Catalog#50564-M08H; NP_031825.2; Met 1-Pro 397). Cathepsin E / CTSE specific IgG was purified by Mouse Cathepsin E / CTSE affinity chromatography.
Cathepsin E / CTSE抗体Background
Cathepsin E, also known as CTSE, is a member of the peptidase A1 family. Cathepsin E / CTSE is an aspartic protease that has been linked to antigen processing and innate immunity. Elevated levels of CTSE expression have also been associated with several forms of cancer, including carcinomas exhibiting highly invasive character. Elevated CTSE activity may play a functional role in the etiology of hepatocarcinogenesis. Cathepsin E / CTSE may have a role in immune function. It is probably involved in the processing of antigenic peptides during MHC class II-mediated antigen presentation. Cathepsin E / CTSE may play a role in activation-induced lymphocyte depletion in the thymus, and in neuronal degeneration and glial cell activation in the brain. Cathepsin E / CTSE is expressed abundantly in the stomach, the Clara cells of the lung and activated B-lymphocytes, and at lower levels in lymph nodes, skin and spleen. It is not expressed in resting B-lymphocytes.
