　　选择基因表达 selective gene expression 指从细胞的多数基因中选出一定的基因而复制，以表达遗传性状．不论单细胞生物还是多细胞生物体的每一细胞，一般多是在其生活史中．根据周围的情况而表达一定的性状，但也不是所有的基因组都是如此，其中只是特定的基因开始复制．选择基因表达的原因有细胞自身内在的因素及从细胞外部作用的因素，前者例如细胞的历史（世代数，即细胞反复进行的核分裂次数）等，后者包括细胞的化学及物理的环境因素，例如激素、诱导物、各种离子组成的变动、温度和射线等。
