        生长线 growth line，line of growth

        　　 系贝壳表面所见之无数微细的平行线。卷贝的生长线围绕螺旋壳，几乎成垂直，双壳贝之生长线以壳顶为中心呈同心圆状。随着动物体之成长，出现贝壳生长的痕迹，在生长缓慢期，间隔可变窄；整个生长线类似树木的年轮线。该时期因动物种类和栖息地点而异，东京附近的双壳贝为冬期；陆奥湾的扇贝为夏期。靠生长线，则可了解到贝壳口的破损情况和幼时贝壳的形态等。
