        癌carcinoma

        包括癌和肿瘤及白血病，狭义上也指肿瘤。可在皮肤、粘膜和各种腺等所有的一些上皮上发生。或者形成肉眼可见的结节，或者呈均匀的浸润性增殖。从组织学上来说，癌的特征是一种由上皮性肿瘤细胞聚集成的一个细胞巢，再由间质将它包围而呈蜂窝状的结构。癌进一步恶化，癌细胞就会分散，有时与肉瘤难于鉴别。癌的发生频率远比肉瘤高得多。癌发展迅速，能进行浸润性增殖，破坏周围组织和转移。通常发病后 1— 2年陷于死亡。根据发生的组织及分化的程度，癌可以分为腺癌、鳞状上皮癌和未分化的癌等，也可按发生癌的脏器来分类。人类的癌有胃癌、子宫癌、乳腺癌、肺癌、肝癌、胰腺癌、食道癌、直肠癌、喉头癌等。不同脏器癌的发生频率因人种不同而有很大的差异，这不单是由于遗传上的差异，似乎也受环境、营养和生活习惯等的影响。
