Background:

ASFV is a large icosahedral DNA virus, p30 and p54 are externally located virus structural proteins 30 and 25 kDa, encoded by the virus genes CP204L and E183L, respectively. African swine fever virus proteins p54 and p30 are involved in two distinct step of virus attachment and both contribute to the antibody mediated protective immune responses. ASF virus protein p30 is an early protein, a part of the inner membrane of the virus particle, and a phosphoprotein by composition. This protein might be a good choice as an antigen for developing serological tests for the detection of ASFV-specific Abs.
