Use Buffered Peptone Water Broth as a nonselective medium for pre-enrichment of bacteria such as Listeriaincluding L. monocytogenes, Salmonella, Cronobacter (Enterobacter), and thermophilic Campylobacter spp. The use of this nonselective broth permits recovery of bacteria after sublethal injury caused by heat, preservatives, or other processing techniques.
