本染色液是一种组织或细胞染色时常用的可以把细胞核染成红色的染色液。本染色液呈酸性，适合用于固定的组织或细胞的染色，不适合用于组织或细胞的活体染色。如需用于活细胞染色，推荐选购百奥莱博的中性红染色液(活细胞染色用)(YT915)。本染色液常用于组织或细胞染色中细胞核的红色复染。中性红同时也是一种pH指示剂，在酸性时呈红色，在pH6.8-8.0时呈黄色。细胞核中的核酸呈酸性，因此细胞核会被染成红色。由于溶酶体(lysome)中也是酸性环境，因此溶酶体也是可以被酸性红染色液染成红色的。一个包装的本染色液如果用于切片或涂片的染色，至少可以染色500个样品。

Background	Mitogen-activated protein kinase 14, also called p38-α, is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the MAPK14 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the MAP kinase family. MAP kinases act as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals, and are involved in a wide variety of cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation and development. This kinase is activated by various environmental stresses and proinflammatory cytokines. The activation requires its phosphorylation by MAP kinase kinases (MKKs), or its autophosphorylation triggered by the interaction of MAP3K7IP1/TAB1 protein with this kinase. The substrates of this kinase include transcription regulator ATF2, MEF2C, and MAX, cell cycle regulator CDC25B, and tumor suppressor p53, which suggest the roles of this kinase in stress-related transcription and cell cycle regulation, as well as in genotoxic stress response.
