Cordycepin（虫草素），又称3-Deoxyadenosine（3’-脱氧腺苷），是冬虫夏草和蛹虫草中的主要活性成分，是第一个从真菌中分离出来的核苷类抗生素。虫草素是一种腺苷类似物，可转换为3’-脱氧腺苷三磷酸（3’-deoxyadenosine triphosphate，3’-dATP），并抑制ATP依赖性的DNA 合成。虫草素不仅具有抗肿瘤，抗白血病，抗菌抗病毒，抗衰老，体外抗炎等作用，还具有降血糖，降血脂等多种生物活性和药理功能。虫草素也适用于mRNA的转录研究。最初是从真菌类的冬虫夏草中提取而来，目前多为化学合成。
