Hotstart-Primer Binding Protein是一种新型热启动技术（称为引物隔离）的活性成分。Taq DNA聚合酶的非特异扩增是PCR实验中的常见问题，非特异扩增直接影响检测结果的判读并且会导致扩增灵敏度下降，甚至目标片段的得率下降等。Hotstart-Primer Binding Protein在低温下可与引物结合，将引物与Taq DNA聚合酶有效隔离，使其无法被聚合酶利用。通过这种作用机制，该蛋白能够高效抑制低温条件下非特异性引物延伸产物及引物二聚体的形成，从而显著提升PCR反应的特异性和扩增效率。
