应用:磺胺嘧啶是一种短效磺胺类药物，常用于与乙胺嘧啶合用治疗获得性免疫缺陷综合征患者的弓形虫病。也用于治疗新生儿先天性感染。在研究再活化弓形虫病的鼠模型时，磺胺嘧啶已被用于控制急性感染。
生化/生理作用
磺胺嘧啶是一种磺胺类抗生素，通过抑制二氢喋呤合成酶而阻断二氢叶酸的合成。磺胺嘧啶是细菌合成叶酸所需的对氨(ān)基苯甲酸(PABA)的竞争性抑制剂。对革兰氏阳性菌、革兰氏阴性菌和衣原体有效。耐药模式是通过改变二氢喋呤合成酶或叶酸合成的替代途径。
