Transcend™ Non-Radioactive Translation Detection Systems(Transcend™ 非放射性翻译蛋白检测系统) 采用非放射性方法检测体外合成的蛋白质。使用这个系统，可使生物素标记的赖氨酸残基在翻译过程中掺入到新生蛋白质中，不需使用35S- 甲硫氨酸或其它放射性氨基酸对蛋白进行标记。加入反应的生物素化的赖氨酸是预先负载了ε- 生物素化赖氨酸-tRNA 的复合物(Transcend™ tRNA)，而不是游离氨基酸。经过SDS-PAGE 和电印迹，带有生物素的蛋白质可以通过与链霉亲和素- 碱性磷酸酶(Streptavidin-AP) 或链霉亲和素- 辣根过氧化物酶(Streptavidin-HRP) 的结合反应而观察到，接着进行显色或化学发光检测来观测结果。通常情况下，凝胶电泳之后3-4 小时内就可检测0.5-5ng 蛋白质。这种灵敏度与使用[35S]甲硫氨酸标记蛋白、在凝胶电泳后进行放射自显影6-12 小时所得到的灵敏度相同。
