起始tRNA initiation tRNA

指能特异性地认别mRNA上的起始密码子，是使蛋白质合成开始的 tRNA。在细胞中有两种甲硫氨酸 tRNA分子，其中的一种就起这种作用。在大肠杆菌中，已接受甲硫氨酸的 tRNA_f ^met 在被甲酰化之后，以其 30S核糖体亚基与 mRNA共同结合，使蛋白质合成开始。即使在以哺乳类为首的真核细胞中，而这种起始机理也没有本质的差别，但是，在真核细胞中，由于缺乏甲酰化酶，所以，未甲酰化的甲硫氨酸 tRNA成为起始 tRNA。
