Elk-1 plays important roles in various contexts, including long-term memory formation, drug addiction, Alzheimer’s disease, Down syndrome, breast cancer, and depression. Phosphorylation of Elk-1 has also been implicated in synaptic plasticity in the adult hippocampus. |
