亦称沼生浮游生物。为浅小的淡水域池沼的浮游生物。由于池沼的水温和水质等变化剧烈，同时池沼也有显著差异，所以浮游生物也不相同。一般是以绿藻类、蓝藻类、有壳变形虫类、轮虫类、枝角类等居多。在干涸的池沼，常常可以看到特征性的浮游生物，如鞭毛藻类的裸藻类、衣藻属（ Chlamydomo－ nas）以及形成耐久卵和被囊孢子的原生动物、轮虫类、枝角类等。在池沼大量出现的种类也是不少，如桡脚类的 Eodiaptomus japonicus，壳变形虫类的 Difflugia。
