Bradford蛋白质定量试剂盒系根据Bradford染料结合原理，利用考马斯亮蓝G-250染料可与蛋白质结合（主要结合碱性或芳香族氨基酸残基），形成蓝色复合物的特性，通过测定样品在595 nm波长下的吸光值，并同BSA标准品所绘制的定量标准曲线做比对，即可计算出待测样品的蛋白质浓度。该方法可测定分子量在3000以上的多数蛋白和多肽浓度，具有灵敏度高、操作简便、快速、价格低廉等特点，是目前实验室最常用的蛋白质粗略定量方法。由于Bradford测定法会受样品中的一些试剂，特别是去垢剂的干扰（见下表），故使用时应先排除干扰因素。
