。它常以抑制的方式与其它促进生长的激素（生长素、赤霉素、细胞分裂素）相互作用。如脱落酸抑制马铃薯的芽萌发，赤霉素可抵消其抑制作用；而赤霉素诱导大麦糊粉层产生α -淀粉酶的作用又可被抑制；它的抑制作用常可被细胞分裂素克服。所以，激素间相互作用是复杂的，植物在生长过程中的生理效应，常常是受多种激素综合的影响。
