华拓细胞库:HBE人支气管上皮细胞 Human bronchial epithelial cells were isolated from bronchial tissue. Bronchi refers to the branches of the trachea at all levels, and the primary bronchus that diverges from the trachea, namely the left and right main bronchus. Compared with the right main bronchus, the left main bronchus is elongated and inclined. The latter is shorter and slightly straighter than the former, so more foreign bodies falling through the trachea enter the right main bronchus. Another difference between the bronchus and the trachea is that the trachea is supported by the "C" type of trachea cartilage, while the bronchus is not. Bronchial epithelium is the first line of defense for the contact between the airway and the external environment. It is not only the target cells of various pathogens and inflammatory mediators, but also the effector cells that synthesize and release a variety of inflammatory mediators and cytokines, thus participating in airway inflammation and immune response. Bronchial epithelial cells play an important role in the pathogenesis of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancer, pulmonary cystic fibrosis and some infectious respiratory diseases. Primary bronchial epithelial cells cultured in vitro are very important in basic and research because of their similarities in morphology, structure and functional activities with tissues in vivo.
