Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) was firstly isolated from human platelets in 1974 by Ross et al. It was found to be a major mitogenic factor present in serum with five dimeric isoforms (PDGF-AA, AB, BB, CC and DD). In addition to its activity as a mitogen, PDGF is chemotactic for fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, neutrophils and mononuclear cells. Via two receptor tyrosine kinases, PDGF receptors α and β, PDGF regulates several physiological and pathophysiological processes. 仅供实验室使用。
