Background Information

Chemokine (C-X-C motif) Ligand 13 (CXCL13), also known as B lymphocyte chemoattractant (BLC) or BCA-1, is highly expressed primarily in the liver, spleen, lymph nodes, and intestine. By binding to its receptor CXCR5, it selectively chemoattracts B cell subsets (B-1 and B-2) and is involved in regulating the organization of B cells within lymphoid follicles. CXCL13 expression is also considered a marker for the germinal center origin of follicular helper T cells (Tfh) and holds significant value in the study of diseases such as angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.
