外观性状： （1）取各种挥发油（松节油、薄荷油、丁香油、陈皮油及桂皮油）观察其色泽，是否有特殊香气，及辛辣烧灼味感。 （2）挥发性：取滤纸屑一小块，滴加薄荷油一滴，放置2小时或微热后观察滤纸上有无清晰的油迹（与菜油作对照实验）。 （3）pH检查：（检游离酸或酚类）。 取样品一滴加乙醇5滴，以预先用蒸馏水湿润的广泛pH试纸进行检查，如显酸性，示有游离的酸或酚类化合物，剩下的样品乙醇液供下面（7）（8）试验用。 （4）FeCl3反应（检酚类）： 取样
环境空气。不同的花香可对不同疾病发挥疗效。例如，丁香花含有丁香油酚，其香气可镇痛镇静；桂花有解郁、避秽之香，有助于治疗狂躁性精神病；薰衣草之香气，对治疗心率过速有效；茉莉花和米兰花之香气可驱蚊等。 现代科学家已揭开花卉之所以香气四溢扑鼻、令人沉醉之迷，原来是在花蕊和花瓣上含有大量的制造香气的油细胞，而且不断地释放芳香油，借助空气弥散所致。花卉既可作为保健食品摆上筵席和家庭饭桌，又可全花入药，或提取花粉花蜜，用以健身益寿。 花卉与健康有益之处甚多
、手帕和头发等处。香水中约含香精15～25％。配制用的酒精浓度约为95％，一般要经过精制和去除杂味。香水种类繁多，下面介绍古龙水和花露水。古龙水的配方是：香柠檬油1.2％、迷迭香油0.1％、苦橙花油0.5％、薰衣草油0.05％、柠檬油0.6％、唇形花油0.05％、龙涎香酊（3％）0.5％、橙花水5％、酒精（95％）92％。花露水的配方是：香柠檬油3.0％、苦橙花油0.6％、薰衣草油0.6％、丁香油0.2％、肉桂油0.5％、玫瑰油0.6％，酒精（95％）94.6％。 （3）唇膏 它点辍
