Description ：CRP (also known as cAMP receptor protein) is a regulatory protein in bacteria. CRP binding tocAMP leads to conformational changes in CRP resulting in a dramatic increase in its binding tospecific DNA sites near the promoter to regulate the transcription of several catabolitesensitive operons. The protein induces a severe bend in the DNA and acts as a negativeregulator of its own synthesis.
