报告基因 (reporter gene) 是一种编码易被检测的蛋白质或酶的基因，其与目的基因融合后的表达产物可用来标定目的基因的表达调控。通常，报告基因与表达载体中的启动子序列连接，转移到细胞后，通过直接测定报告基因mRNA、报告蛋白本身或报告蛋白的酶活性来检测报告基因是否在细胞中表达。
