Streptomycin Sulfate, cell culture reagent
An aminoglycoside antimycobacterial effective against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. Widely used in combination with penicillin in a standard antibiotic cocktail to prevent bacterial infection in cell culture. Streptomycin controls bacterial and fungal diseases of certain fruit, vegetables, seed and ornamental crops.
Application Notes
Streptomycin, in combination with penicillin, is used in a standard antibiotic cocktail to prevent bacterial infection in cell culture. Streptomycin also is used as a pesticide, to combat the growth of bacteria, fungi, and algae. Streptomycin controls bacterial and fungal diseases of certain fruit, vegetables, seed, and ornamental crops, and it controls algae in ornamental ponds and aquaria.

Stock solututions should be sterile filtered.

Typically used at a concentration of 50-100 mg/liter.

药理学实验 链霉素中毒的解救 【目的】 观察链霉素阻断神经肌肉接头的毒性及钙离子的拮抗作用 【原理】链霉素为氨基苷类 抗生素 (antibiotic)，其急性毒性反应为神经肌肉阻滞，出现四肢无力甚至呼吸抑制。本实验以注射过量的链霉素使小鼠产生急性毒性，观察氯化钙对抗链霉素中毒小鼠的保护作用。 【器材】鼠笼、天平、 烧杯 、1ml注射器等 【药品】5%硫酸链霉素溶液、1%氯化钙溶液、生理盐水（NS
以10%浓度注入培养液中。 （3） 青霉素、链霉素双抗溶液 青霉素100万单位及硫酸链霉素1g无菌条件下溶于消毒三蒸水10ml，分装，-20℃保存。使用时每1000ml培养液加入青、链霉素混合液1ml，最终浓度为青霉素100单位/ml，链霉素100μg/ml。 （4）磷酸盐溶液（PBS）： NaCl 8g, KCl 0.4g, NaHPO4.H2O 1.15g KH2PO4 0.2g 分别溶于1000ml三蒸水中，调节PH值至7.4高压蒸气灭菌，分装后4℃保存
措施：合理化疗，坚持正规地用药和完成规定的疗程，是治疗肺结核的基本原则。药物可选用异烟肼加乙胺丁醇，异烟肼加利福平。硫酸链霉素仅限于严重病例，剂量为每日0.5～0.75g。口服药物疗程最少一年，并可酌情延长至18～24个月。利福平若与异烟肼配伍用，疗程可减为9个月，但两药联合应用可增强对肝脏的毒性反应，用药期间应定期复查肝功能。肺结核在中医方面属“虚劳”范畴，辨证多属阴虚火旺，治疗时采用补肺气、养肾阴的方药，并可加入对结核杆菌有抑菌作用的百部、黄芩、黄精等。
