Applications of Electron Microscopy for Studying Protein-DNA Complexes

Electron microscopic (EM) studies of DNA-protein complexes have led to many insights into biological reactions. There are three general methods that can be used to great advantage in such studies, each gives a different type of information, but each has its own disadvantages. In this chapter, we will discuss these methods and show examples of the usefulness of each.
