during days or weeks the major characteristics of the original tissue cells. Primary cell culture systems have shown their
usefulness for studying the specific activities and the underlying mechanisms of a variety of test compounds. Brain primary
cultures have become a powerful tool to analyze the toxic effects and mechanisms of potentially harmful agents in the different
brain cell types.
