The use of radioiodinated angiotensins has contributed greatly to our knowledge of the renin-angiotensin system (RAS). This chapter provides brief descriptions of the application of radioiodinated angiotensins and other radioiodinated compounds to study the RAS and the issues that must be considered when using radioiodinated angiotensins. In addition, this chapter provides a detailed description of a method for the preparation and purification of both iodine125 (125 I) and iodine127 (127 I)-labeled angiotensin-related ligands.
