〔 l〕指海胆类的弯曲的消化管前半部。倒过来终于肛门的后半部称后胃。〔 2〕昆虫类，是连接口→食道→嗉囊（在具有吸型口器的昆虫则称吸胃）的部分，在发生学上，相当于前肠的最后部分，其内面被覆着一层几丁质层。胃内的几丁质齿甲虫类为 4个，直翅目为 6个，举尾虫类的数目很多且排列规则整齐，藉胃壁肌肉的收缩，可以将食物进行再咀嚼，因此，与甲壳类的胃、轮虫类的咽都被称为咀嚼胃，也有称砂囊的。〔 3〕鸟类，也称腺胃，指连接嗉囊的部分。
