泽泻科，慈菇属。多年生草本，具地下匍匐枝，枝端有球茎。叶基生，水上叶箭形，水下叶带形，叶柄长 30～ 60厘米。花茎高 20～ 80厘米，总状花序，花单性，雌雄同株。花多数，每 3朵轮生于节上；雌花在下，白色，花梗长 1～ 2厘米，萼状花被卵形，反卷。雄花白色，雄蕊多数。聚合瘦果，斜倒卵形，长 3～ 3.5毫米，扁平，背腹均有翅。慈菇分布广，生于池塘或沟渠中。球茎为食品或强壮药。
