Silane and Poly-L-Lysine Coating of Microscope Slides

2) Wash slides in running tap water for 30 minutes.

3) Wash slides in distilled water for 2 x 5 minutes.

4) Wash slides in 95% ethanol for 2 x 5 minutes.

5) Air dry in a dust free environment for 5 minutes.

Poly-L-Lysine Coating

a) Smear 20ul of poly-l-lysine over each slide.
b) Air dry in a dust free environment.

Silated Slides

a) To 300mls acetone add 6mls Aminopropyltriethoxysilane solution (Sigma A-3648).
b) Dip slides into silane solution for 10 seconds.
c) Wash 2 x briefly in distilled water.
d) Dry overnight at 37°C in a dust-free environment.
