主要是指脊椎动物的局部卵裂的胚胎，其包于胚内的体腔部分（靠近侧板内腔的肾节部位），具体说，就是体壁中胚层与脏壁中胚层之间的腔隙，称为胚内体腔。此腔向外延伸则与胚体外区的胚外体腔相接。
