在人体中腭形成不全的一种畸形。其左、右的腭突不象正常的那样在正中部愈合，仍留下裂口，因此，使口腔和鼻腔相通。软腭裂，裂口位于正中部，硬腭裂，则裂口从正中部连到侧方（一侧或两侧）。腭裂往往伴有兔唇。据报道这和兔唇同样，约20％与遗传有关。
