本试剂盒可测动物组织、植物组织及培养细胞样本中苹果酸脱氢酶活力。苹果酸脱氢酶（Malate Dehydrogenase, MDH）催化的氧化还原反应伴随着340nm处吸光度的降低，通过测定每分钟吸光度的变化来计算苹果酸脱氢酶的活力。MDH与植物代谢的多条重要途径有密切关系，它在运转物质和能量的Mal/OAA（苹果酸/草酰乙酸）和Mal/Asp（苹果酸/天冬氨酸）穿梭中起重要作用；在光呼吸中，MDH为Gly（甘氨酸）氧化提供NAD+；在线粒体中，MDH还是决定TCA(三羧酸循环)运转速度的调节酶之一；在细胞溶质中，MDH与酸支路相联系。所以MDH系统不仅是研究酶区域化和酶调节的好系统，也为研究各细胞器之间的联系和许多发育问题提供了方便。

注意事项：
1. 本试剂盒的检测试剂中含有萤光素酶，反复冻融会导致其逐渐失活。尽管经测试本试剂反复冻融5次对于其检测效果无显著影响，为取得良好的使用效果，*次解冻后可适当分装保存。反复冻融过程中，可能会导致检测试剂中出现少量沉淀，此时宜平衡至室温，并尽量溶解。如仍有残留的不溶物，可以离心去除后使用，经测试不会影响后续的检测效果。
2. 检测时需使用白色或黑色的96孔板或384孔板。如果使用普通透明的96孔板或384孔板，相邻孔之间会产生相互干扰。
3. 使用说明中提供了检测ATP标准品的方法，实际检测细胞活力时通常并不需要检测ATP标准品。
