本试剂盒可测各种动物血清（浆）、组织等样本中谷氨酸含量。谷氨酸是构成蛋白质的氨基酸之一，虽然它不是人体必须的氨基酸，但它可作为碳氮营养与机体代谢，有较高的营养价值。谷氨酸被人体吸收后，易与血氨形成谷酰氨，能解除代谢过程中氨的毒害作用，因而能预防和治疗肝昏迷，保护肝脏。脑组织只能氧化谷氨酸，而不能氧化其它氨基酸，故谷酰胺可作为脑组织的能量物质，改进维持大脑机能。谷氨酸作为神经中枢及大脑皮质的补剂，对于研究脑震荡或神经损伤、癫痫以及弱智均有一定科研意义。
优点如下：

注意事项：
1. 本试剂盒的检测试剂中含有萤光素酶，反复冻融会导致其逐渐失活。尽管经测试本试剂反复冻融5次对于其检测效果无显著影响，为取得良好的使用效果，*次解冻后可适当分装保存。反复冻融过程中，可能会导致检测试剂中出现少量沉淀，此时宜平衡至室温，并尽量溶解。如仍有残留的不溶物，可以离心去除后使用，经测试不会影响后续的检测效果。
2. 检测时需使用白色或黑色的96孔板或384孔板。如果使用普通透明的96孔板或384孔板，相邻孔之间会产生相互干扰。
3. 使用说明中提供了检测ATP标准品的方法，实际检测细胞活力时通常并不需要检测ATP标准品。
