IL-1 有两种不同的分子形式，一种 IL-1α，由 159 个氨基酸组成；
另一种称为 IL-1β，含 153 个氨基酸；两者由不同的基因分别编码。人
和小鼠 IL-1 基因定位于 2 号染色体，均含 7 个外显子。IL-1 前体(ProIL-1)
为 31kDa，通过蛋白水解酶裂解形成成熟的 IL-1 分子。IL-1 在不同种属
中有较高同源性。在氨基酸水平上，IL-1α和 IL-1β在不同种属同源性分
别为 60％～70％和 75％～78％；但在同一种属中 IL-1α与 IL-1β同源性
只有 25％ 。IL-1α和 IL-1β分子量约 17.5kDa, 等电点分别为 5 和 7，同
源性为 28％，IL-1α和 IL-1β以同样的亲和力结合于相同的细胞表面受体，
发挥相同的生物学作用。
