| Comments: | The line was isolated from a patient who was negative for anti human T lymphotropic virus type I (HTLV-I) antibody, and no HTLV-I sequences were detected in the cultured cells by Southern analysis. Although HH cells lack the alpha chain of the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R alpha), they do possess a functional p70 beta chain (IL-2R beta) of the IL-2 receptor complex. A culture submitted to the ATCC in June of 1992 was found to be contaminated with mycoplasma, and was cured by treatment with Ciprofloxacin. |
