介绍：组蛋白是真核生物染色质中的碱性蛋白质，富含精氨酸和赖氨酸等碱性 氨基酸。组蛋白甲基化是由组蛋白甲基化转移酶（histone methyltransferases, HMTs）完成的，甲基化主要发生在赖氨酸和精氨酸残基上。赖氨酸甲基化似乎是基因表达调控较为稳定 的修饰，作用也较复杂，包括干细胞的维持和分化、X 染色体失活、转录调 节和 DNA 损伤反应等。其既可以促进基因表达也可以抑制基因表达，取决 于它所位于的残基情况，如 H3-K4（组蛋白 H3 中的第 4 位赖氨酸）和 H3-K36，甲基化与基因激活相关，而 H3-K9 和 H3-K27 甲基化则与基因沉默相关。
