Apixaban是高度选择且有效作用于，人Factor Xa兔Factor Xa抑制剂，Ki分别为0.08nM和0.17nM。在体外，Apixaban作用于正常人血浆，延长人凝血时间，使凝血酶原时间(PT)，改良凝血酶原时间(mPT)，活化部分凝血活酶时间(APTT) 和HepTest增加一倍，所需的浓度(EC2x)分别为3.6μM、0.37μM、7.4μM和0.4μM，此外，在PT和APTT实验中，Apixabanzuì高效作用于人和兔血浆，而作用于大鼠和犬血浆则效果较低。
Apixaban作用于犬，具有优良的药代动力学特性，极低间隙(Cl:0.02L·kg-1·h-1)，低体积分布 (Vdss:0.2L·kg-1)。此外，Apixaban也具有适度半衰期(T1/2:5.8小时)和良好的口服生物有效性(F:58%)。Apixaban作用于动静脉分流血栓形成(AVST)，静脉血栓形成(VT)和电介导颈动脉血栓(ECAT)兔子模型，具有抗血血栓形成效果，EC50分别为270nM、110nM和70nM。
