Transcription factor MafG, V-maf musculoaponeurotic fibrosarcoma oncogene homolog G, hMAF, MAFG, hMAF.

Transcription factor MafG (MAFG) is a member of the Maf family. Given that they lack a putative transactivation domain, the small Mafs act as transcriptional repressors when they dimerize amongst themselves. Nevertheless, they seem to function as transcriptional activators by dimerizing with other (generally larger) basic-zipper proteins and engaging them to specific DNA-binding sites. Small Maf proteins heterodimerize with Fos and may function as competitive repressors of the NF-E2 transcription factor.

MAFG Human Recombinant produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 182 amino acids (1-162) and having a molecular mass of 20kDa.
MAFG is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Sterile filtered colorless solution.

The MAFG solution (0.25mg/ml) contains 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH8.0), 40% glycerol, 0.15M NaCl and 1mM DTT.

Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

Greater than 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
