Uridine phosphorylase from S.alm.one.lla typ.him.uriu.m (StUP) catalyzes the reversible phosphorolysis of uridine with the formation of ribose-1-phosphate and uracil.

Uridine phosphorylase S.alm.one.lla typ.him.uriu.m Recombinantproduced in E.Coli is a non-glycosylated, polypeptide having a total molecular mass of 163068 Dalton.

The UPase was lyophilized from 1mg/ml solution containing 25mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, 0.15M NaCl.

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized UPase in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Lyophilized UPase although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution UPase should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C.
For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

One unit phosphorylates 1μm of uridine within 1 min at pH 7.3.
