Besides keeping the intracellular milieu in a reduced state and being involved in the defence against oxidative stress, thioredoxin-1 specifically regulates several transcription factors and receptors. Increased plasma levels of thioredoxin-1 has been associated with several psychiatric disorders.

This product enables quantification of human Trx1 in solution, e.g. in cell culture supernatants and serum/plasma. Reduced and oxidized forms of Trx1 are detected. The kit contains a matched pair of monoclonal capture and detection antibodies, Streptavidin-ALP and ELISA standard. Plates and substrate are not included.
