Mouse CD8a (Ly-2) MicroBeads have been developed for positive selection or depletion of mouse CD8a+ T cells from single-cell suspensions of lymphoid and non-lymphoid tissues or from peripheral blood.

Background information
The CD8a antigen is expressed on most thymocytes, almost all cytotoxic T cells, and on subpopulations of dendritic cells. CD8a functions as an accessory molecule in the recognition of MHC class I/peptide complexes by the TCR heterodimer on cytotoxic CD8a+ T cells.

Downstream applications
CD8a (Ly-2) MicroBeads, mouse were developed for the isolation of mouse CD8+ T cells from various lymphoid and non-lymphoid tissues or from peripheral blood for the subsequent functional and phenotypical analysis of T cells in vitro and in vivo. 

Examples for downstream applications include:

In vitro and in vivo studies on protective immune responses against parasites or allergens
Adoptive transfer into immunodeficient and virus-infected mice
Isolation of highly pure CD8+ T cells from CNS of MHV-infected mice for evaluation of their chemokine expression patterns
