Background	PECAM-1 is found on the surface of platelets, monocytes, neutrophils, and some types of T-cells, and makes up a large portion of endothelial cell intercellular junctions. The encoded protein is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and is likely involved in leukocyte transmigration, angiogenesis, and integrin activation. CD31 is also expressed in certain tumors, including epithelioid hemangioendothelioma, epithelioid sarcoma-like hemangioendothelioma, other vascular tumors, histiocytic malignancies, and plasmacytomas. It is rarely found in some sarcomas, such as Kaposi"s sarcoma and carcinomas. In immunohistochemistry, CD31 is used primarily to demonstrate the presence of endothelial cells in histological tissue sections. This can help to evaluate the degree of tumour angiogenesis, which can imply a rapidly growing tumor.

IRS1(insulin receptor substrate 1)，也称IRS-1，是胰岛素受体(insulin receptor)激酶的主要底物。IRS1含有多个酪*酸磷酸化位点，这些位点磷酸化后可以结合含有SH2结构域的蛋白，如PI3-K和GRB2等，从而介导胰岛素诱导的代谢和促生长信号。IRS1还含有30多个serine/threonine磷酸化位点。胰岛素刺激可以诱导IRS1的Ser302磷酸化。JNK和IKK可以磷酸化IRS-1的Ser307；AMPK家族的SIK-2可以磷酸化IRS1的Ser789。PKC可以调节IRS1的Ser612位点磷酸化，而IRS1的Ser636/639位点磷酸化受mTOR信号通路调控。PKCτ介导IRS1的Ser1101位点磷酸化。IRS1一方面介导了胰岛素的信号转导，但IRS1过表达或一些丝*酸磷酸化也会导致胰岛素抵抗(insulin resistance)。

Background	In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by the receptor associated kinases, and then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the cell nucleus where they act as transcription activators. This protein STAT6 plays a central role in exerting IL4 mediated biological responses. It is found to induce the expression of BCL2L1/BCL-X(L), which is responsible for the anti-apoptotic activity of IL4. Knockout studies in mice suggested the roles of this gene in differentiation of T helper 2 (Th2), expression of cell surface markers, and class switch of immunoglobulins.
