Aldehyde dehydrogenase, dimeric NADP-preferring is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ALDH3A1 gene, belongs to the aldehyde dehydrogenase family. ALDHs play a major role in the detoxification of alcohol-derived acetaldehyde. They are involved in the metabolism of corticosteroids, biogenic amines, neurotransmitters, and lipid peroxidation. This protein preferentially oxidizes aromatic aldehyde substrates. It may play a role in the oxidation of toxic aldehydes.

Cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2) belongs to the cyclin-dependent kinase of Ser/Thr protein kinase. CDK2 acts as a catalytic subunit of the cyclin dependent kinase complex, whose activity is restricted to the G1-S phage of the cell cycle, it is essential for the G1/S transition. The kinase activity of CDK2 can be regulated by the association with a cyclin subunit, its phosphorylation state and CDK inhibitors. The activation of the CDK2/cyclin complex requires the phosphorylation of Thr160 and the dephosphorylation of Try14 and Tyr15. The inhibition of CDK2-cyclin complex can also be attributed to association with p27Kip1 and p21Waf1/Cip1. The activation of CDK2 has been shown to be necessary for apoptosis of quiescent cells, such as neurons, thymocytes and endothelial cells.

Tropomyosin α-1 Chain (TPM1) is a member of the Tropomyosin family of highly conserved and widely distributed Actin-binding proteins involved in the contractile system of striated and smooth muscles and the cytoskeleton of non-muscle cells. TPM1 binds to Actin filaments in both muscle and non-muscle cells. It is one type of α-helical chain that forms the predominant Tropomyosin of striated muscle. TPM1 plays a central role in association with the Troponin complex and the Calcium dependent regulation of vertebrate striated muscle contraction. Smooth muscle contraction is regulated by interaction with Caldesmon. In non-muscle cells, it is implicated in stabilizing the cytoskeleton Actin filaments. Defects in TPM1 are associated with type 3 Familial Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.

Ribulose-Phosphate 3-Epimerase (RPE) is a member of the Ribulose-Phosphate 3-Epimerase family. RPE exists as a homodimer and catalyzes the reversible epimerization of D-ribulose 5-phosphate to D-xylulose 5-phosphate. RPE binds one divalent metal cation per subunit and contains tightly bound Fe2+ when produced in E.coli, but the physiological cofactor may be Co2+, Mn2+ or Zn2+. It has been shown that RPE participates in 3 metabolic pathways: pentose phosphate pathway, pentose and glucuronate interconversions, and carbon fixation.
