Sulfotransferase 4A1 (ST4A1) is a member of the Sulfotransferase 1 family. ST4A1 is highly expressed in the cerebral cortex and frontal lobe, but no expression is detected in the pancreas. ST4A1 is a brain-specific sulfotransferase believed to be involved in the metabolism of neurotransmitters. ST4A1 acts on catecholamines and T4 in a manner that may not involve sulfonation. ST4A1 may have a role in the metabolism of drugs and neurotransmitters in the CNS. In addition, ST4A1 is related to schizophrenia.

关于CD99/MIC2：
CD99 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein and the founding member of the CD99 family of molecules. The extracellular domain of CD99 contains no identifiable motifs, its cytoplasmic region, although short, does have signal transduction capability. Cells known to express CD99 include fibroblasts, neutrophils, T cells, double positive thymocytes, CD34+ stem cells, monocytes and endothelial cells. Two types of CD99 isoforms have been classified. Native human CD99 is referred to as the long, or type I isoform. The best studied type II isoform shows an Asp-Gly substitution for the C terminal 27 amino acids. The type I and II isoforms have distinctive signal transduction pathways (FAKsrc for type I PI3K plus srcERK1/2 for type II), and mediate clearly different biological outcomes. Homophilic interaction between CD99 on the neutrophil and CD99 on the endothelial cell regulates the transendothelial migration of neutrophils during inflammation. Human CD99 has 48% aa sequence identity to mouse CD99.

Uridinephosphorylase 1 (UPP1) is a member ofthe family of pentosyltransferase. UPP1 catalyses the reversible phosphorolysis of uridine to uracil. The expression levels and the enzymatic activity of UPP1 are higher in human solid tumors than in adjacent normal tissues. The high level of UPP1 expression in some tumors makes it a potential prognosticfactor for some cancers, such as oral squamous cell carcinoma. UPP1 is important for the homeostatic regulation of intracellular and plasma uridine concentratios.
