Thrombopoietin (THPO) is a lineage-specific cytokine affecting the proliferation and maturation of megakaryocytes from their committed progenitor cells. It acts at a late stage of megakaryocyte development, and plays a major role in the physiological regulating of circulating platelets. Recombinant Mouse TPO produced in E. coli is a single non-glycosylated soluble polypeptide chain containing 174 amino acids with a MW of 18,704 Da which comprises the receptor binding domain of the Mpl-ligand protein.

Each vial contains 10 ug of lyophilized protein. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.

Recombinant TPO is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of MO7e cells is less then 1 ng/ml, corresponding to a Specific Activity of 1 x 10 6 IU/mg.

Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
