It possesses nucleoside-diphosphate kinase and serine/threonine-specific protein kinase activity, in addition to geranyl and farnesyl pyrophosphate activity. NDP kinase is involved in cell proliferation, differentiation and development, signal transduction, G protein-coupled receptor endocytosis, and gene expression. NDP kinase is required for neural development including neural patterning and cell fate determination. |
