又称吡哆素。一种含吡哆醇或吡哆醛或吡哆胺的B族维生素。1936年定名为维生素B6。维生素B6为无色晶体,易溶于水及乙醇,在酸液中稳定,在碱液中易破坏,吡哆醇耐热,吡哆醛和吡哆胺不耐高温。维生素B6在酵母菌、肝脏、谷粒、肉、鱼、蛋、豆类及花生中含量较多。维生素B6为人体内某些辅酶的组成成分,参与多种代谢反应,尤其是和氨基酸代谢有密切关系。维生素B6长期缺乏会导致皮肤、中枢神经系统和造血机构的损害。动物缺乏维生素B6的症状为皮炎、痉挛、贫血等。单纯的维生素B6缺乏症在人类极少见。临床上应用
内含有大量的γ-氨基丁酸转氨酶(GABA-T),它可催化GABA与α�酮戊二酸之间的转氨作用,生成琥珀酸半醛(succinic acid semialdehyde)和谷氨酸。这可看作是GABA灭活的一种方式。GABA-T也是需要磷酸吡哆醛作辅酶,但与GAD比较,它同磷酸吡哆醛的亲和力大,所以当体内维生素B6缺乏时,主要影响GAD的活性。例如,使用异烟肼治疗结核病时,由于异烟肼能与维生素B6(吡哆醛)结合成异烟腙(isoniazone),加速维生素B6从尿中排泄,引起脑组织内维生素B6浓度下降,GAD活性
